Mystery, British Spy:

The 39 Steps by John Buchan, the classic spy novel written in 1915. I first read this novel in about 1999? My husband and at least one son ended up reading it as well. It is a lot of fun and several movie versions have been made of it. John Buchan the Scottish novelist was also the 1st Baron Tweedsmuir. Fast moving and entertaining!

Non Fiction, Memoirs:

All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot, A delightful memoir by James Alfred “Alf” Wight (AKA James Herriot) a veterinarian living in the Yorkshire dales of England.
